Depending of your diagnosis, an injection of an anesthetic with steroid can be given in a safe manner to decreased pain from inflamed discs, nerve or joints. This are usually performed with fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance) to improve precision, results and minimize discomfort.

TRIGGER POINT INJECTION

Local trauma to muscles can cause tenderness and increased irritability causing muscle spasms and referred pain. This can be helped with a local injection of anesthetic, steroids or sarapin to break the spasms and pain.

PERIPHERAL JOINT INJECTIONS

Any articulation (joint) can get inflamed due to injury or arthritis. A local injection, usually steroid can help relieve that pain and inflammation.

VISCOSUPPLEMENTATION

Osteoarthritis can cause inflammation or chronic pain from cartilage deterioration. When other treatment fails to relieve the symptoms, hyaluronic acid (such as synvisc) is injected into the joint to help give cushion and lubricate the joint to prevent friction and help relieve pain.
