EMG/NCS
An Electromyogram (EMG) measures the electrical impulses of muscles at rest and during contraction. Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) measure nerve conduction velocity, how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical signals. Nerve and muscle disorders cause the muscles to react in abnormal ways. Central Florida Pain & Rehab Clinic offers this service to help detect the presence, location and extent of diseases that damage muscle tissue or nerves.
We usually do EMG/NCS test together to give a more complete information.

VAX-D THERAPY
A revolutionary non surgical procedure called Vertebral Axial Decompression is now available at Central Florida Pain & Rehab Clinic to treat all common causes of low back pain and sciatica. It is a non-invasive treatment for the management of patients with chronic back and leg pain from a number of low back disc-related conditions, including: herniated, bulging, ruptured disc, degenerative disc disease, facet syndrome, and spinal arthritis.
At its simplest, VAX-D is an effective (clinical studies report and impressive 70 percent success rate) and safe procedure that decompresses, or takes the pressure off, the discs in your lower back and is free from the risks associated with surgery, injections, or anesthesia. Research indicates that time off work or in recovery is minimal, and resolution of symptoms is long lasting. In the majority of patients, acute back pain symptoms resolve on their own in one to two months.
During a VAX-D treatment session, the patient lies face down on a computerized "split" table, a pelvic harness around the hips. The patient's arms extend forward, and his hands grasp two patient-operated handgrips. As treatment begins, the table literally separates in two, creating a stretch in the patient's lower back. If at any point in the session the patient experiences discomfort, releasing the handgrips immediately halts the treatment. A single session typically lasts 45 minutes.
